Greetings. OK. Think of the range of TID numbers on the 705.
Runs from -8 on the left to what, 40 on the right? Something like that.
Now, the TID's on the right of the range cover targets like silver, old coins, and clad coins.
These targets are best searched for with a 3 kHz coil.
The TID's on the left of the range cover targets like relics and gold.
These targets are best searched with a HF coil.
So that leaves the mid-range TID's left for the 7.5 kHz coil.
What common targets are there in the mid-range TID'S?
Some jewerly, but mostly trash.
Even Digger prefers to use a 3 kHz coil (see book).
I wrote to Minelab and explained this to them.
All 705's should come stock with a 3 kHz coil.
