minelab excalibur and jw fisher pulse 8x on land?

hello

I am interested in getting the excalibur or the pulse 8x for my underwater metal detecting. I am new to the underwater detecting so im seeking some advice as which one to get. Also I am wondering how well theses underwater detectors do on land, (not just the beach) as this is where I do most of my detecting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
