Minelab: Explorer II vs. XS

Anyone know if there's a big difference between these two models? I can buy a used XS for less.
Also - Can a good quality under water model (Excalibur) be used on land as well as either the Expl II or XS? Thanks. Paul in Chicago.

Paul,
Big difference between the Explorer and Sov in the way they operate but either will find the goodies. Both go deep and when learned will find things everyone else has missed.
The Excal is just a Sov in a waterproof case. If you can swing the weight it will detect on land as well as the Sov. Operates exactly the same too.
