reading my book by andy sabisch i came across a tool he said could be found on the website, minelabowners.com .
went there and can't find it anywhere. found the mention of an e-trac version but not the ex se version. anyone have any ideas or info on this tool?
he said it can be downloaded to your own computer.

One of my hunting buddies in houston designed the only one I know of. He hangs out on the etrac forum. Check www.thebeepgoeson.com

thanks bryce. it looks like if you want the se or earlier versions ya have to go to max's website. niether of the minelab sites have the se or ex2 versions. they're just promoting the e-trac. you'll also need to learn how to read german or what ever language it is. could help some i guess.

thanks to all who helped me find the emulator and make it run in english.
it comes in french not german. but you do have options to change it to english after you install it.

Don't feel bad...it took me another day before I realized that you can change the currency format. I thought I was stuck with the default foreign coins program forever.

Same thing happened to me...lol.

i think i read where you can add targets. not sure. might only apply to e-trac. will be playing and poking around.
already helped in learning the menue .

There is already a us coins program in the simulator. Go up to File...then click Zip files. US coins should be the last one on the list. If there is a way to download more coins into the simulator, I have'nt found a way to do that.

Its an interesting program that gives you an idea what you will see and hear and how adjustment may change. Just remember these are in a perfect world. Once you add outside influences they will vary. I think Beep has done a great job adding zip files for us. Call me greedy, id like to see more of the older coins and relic... and even trash. It would be a hell of a way to spend the winter. Took me a bit of time to figure out how to get my down loads moved since i use Mozilla in leu of explorer as my browser.

Do you have a link to those zip files? Thanks..

The ZIP target files for US coins, gold and silver jewelry are at the link Bryce provided (as well as links to the emulators).

There is a new application that will (hopefully) help anyone create SE or E-Trac emulator target files without all the hassle. It can be found here...

http://www.thebeepgoeson.com/display.asp?page=EZEmulator

This page also has the manual steps you would have to perform if you created the target files "by hand".

What i did was first find out where they were down loaded to.... mine was in the Mozilla browser file. I opened MY COMPUTER and went to PROGRAM FILES hit the arrow and opened all the program files. Then hit the arrow on the emulator program you will see the DATA file. I left that open then went to my download file in my browser and found the downloads. Then i just drug those files over to the data file in the emulator program. Im not much of a computer guy either.

You have to install the emulator and take note of where it was installed. Sometimes Vista will not show these directories by default and you have to change your settings to see them. Then, when you find the directory ("C:\Program Files\ExSeEm-V1-en" is a good place to start), look for the datazips sub-directory ("C:\Program Files\ExSeEm-V1-en\datazips"). Put the target .zip files in the datazips sub-directory. DO NOT UNZIP THEM. Start the emulator and go to File Menu -> ZIP files -> select file.
