Minelab?? No thanks,I,ll buy AMERICAN ANY DAY!!

Just remember when you see an Explorer following you around and finding all the goodies that I told you so! Good Luck and HH with what ever brand you desire.

Oh you mean like toyota, wal-mart products, BP fuels, made of steal, or mega properties.... its getting hard to tell what's made in america. I think with prices the way they are its crazy to overlook the talents and ability to sell cheaper just because its NOT American made.

All of the American store owners that sell Minelab detectors make a living doing just that. Do you want them all to starve?

Minelab U.S.A. in Los Vegas Nevada also employs Americans and pays them very good money I might add. Do you want all of them out on the street too?

Many foreign made cars are made in America too. The brand new Honda I bought years ago was made in America.

Oh, that computer you used to type your nonsensical message to which I am posting to? I doubt it was made in America. So next time you want to communicate, why not rub some sticks together that were grown in America and start a fire with wood that was grown in America and send smoke signals.

Don't use any telephones either nor cell phones if you are going to be a purist.

As for me, I love things not made in America.. . especially my Minelabe machines!

Wonder what kind of contribution that had to the forum............

A search of ZIPZIP's posts for the last year indicate he posts just shy of zero on MD'ing topics..... Seems he likes to hear himself talk about the war, and his apparent distaste for Minelab. Not one post indicates he owns any other detectors or has had any success metal detecting. It appears he is just a plain old $hit stirrer who needs to be on a podium preaching his opinions to all who really don't care to listen to his pointless diatribe.....

I like to buy American too, but that was just outright stupid! Buy American when you can, but buy what you like. A narrow opinion. If American made all bad products, would you still buy American???? Besides, the buy American thing doesn't hold much weight anymore, since most of American made products duck in under loop holes, and are really made in pieces far away from American soil. So buy what you like and support American businesses when you can.

If he really wants to make a case, Let him rave about all of the American companies that fire it's American employees and ship all their work to foreign countries......Jack

I do. Especially when the product can out perform (as looks are not everything) one that is made in any part of the world.

So if your saying buy American MADE and owned then I do understand

BUT What's stopping YOU?

and why is buying American a solution to any of your metal detecting woes?

Could it be that it's the only excuse you can come up with that makes up for your stupidity.

The USA , from all accounts seems to be going through some tough economic times and our wishes, yes even from many here in Australia is that it pulls itself out of it. If that means buying ONLY American then so be it!

BUT what does that mean when you're in need of something that American made just can't offer?

What if the detector you chose to buy, does not offer the same performance abilities as a product made overseas that at the very least embraces Americans buy putting in a support infrastructure that uses Americans as it's employees and all of this done IN America.

How much more American does it need to be for you? You really can't expect to rely on a local economy any longer as your sole support. Not unless the USA decides to close it's borders and not allow a FTA or intercontinental trade. You know, one hand washes another............

OR are you maybe suggesting that the USA should copy a product and then sell it under it's own American made badge. Wouldn't that breach the copyright act and the patent system that is honored by many countries that have complied with American ideals and capitalist policies like an FTA that we here in Australia reluctantly accepted, but have had to endure anyway? It really hasn't harmed us entirely , at least not on the metal detecting front. Given that we only had the Garret, Fisher, Whites available here as a metal detector in the first place , you can rest assured that WE bought only American....until we were given an alternative choice.

Come on , get off it and try something that gels with us all when it come to metal detecting......that's IF you have a brain than can cope with doing so.
