Minelab releasing the new "SE PRO"

I'll often make a dry comment, but unfortunately, it seems to go over our American friends heads. I suppose it's because we're in the middle of the worst drought in our history, here in Oz.
By the way. Would I be right in assuming that the SE Pro will be an unaltered SE with the new coil, or has the circuitry had an upgrade as well.
Thanks.
Mick Evans.

As information is coming in to us it is the SE with the new coil.
I haven't heard of any improvements made to the SE detector.
Because it has the new coil on they have just added a "professional" script onto the side of the SE.

I really look forward to the test of the coil.
Gordon knows his stuff and doesn't hold back any punches so I know we will get a "warts and all" test on it.
Ill post a link to it as soon as its done.

Thanks for the updates Gary. Do you know when the " SE PRO" will become available ? Also will this new coil work with the EXP II ? Thanks again.

Not a woods or cornfield coil or anyplace where there is a lot of stubble. It should be great in fields and other open areas.

They would just come out with a " All New Ex" Coil , Rod , etc. Instead of beating a dead horse year after year . Why buy a new, if they haven't really changed that much !?!

Here's a link to the new SE "pro."

That is Mine Lab's description of the new SE PRO at http://www.minelab.com/consumer/page.php?section=272&pId=5&pNm=Explorer%20SE%20Professional&x=y. Direct from Mine Lab's web site. Faster than what???????????................ my plain old Amateur SE:poke::rofl: I only wish, I'll take two. It is no wonder everyone is talking about hush, hush, closed doors, UN-disclosed upgrades and such.......Isn't ML's statement "faster & more powerful microprocessor" on the new SE PRO's description exactly stating that?? It doesn't say "a faster processor than the EX2". They leave that part ambiguous. Problem is, if it isn't specifically stated as to which unit the new PRO is faster than, than it would be assumed that they indeed are referring to their previous model; the SE. If that is not true, then the statement is false advertising at worst and misleading at best. Now I love my Mine Labs and if they put out a new machine or a new coil; I am going to grab them with both hands. But I would prefer they completed that sentence "FASTER THAN WHAT???" how about you? I bought a Excalibur and 2 months later the EX2 came out, I was bummed out:thumbdown: Then everyone, including my dealer said "just new decals and some battery improvements; SAME machine, NO difference" and I was cool with that. Now, take a guy who just got a new SE last week, if he finds out the PRO is faster or better than his 1 week old SE, then Mine Lab has the head ache of dealing with him. This is the problem with updating or upgrading anything....you are always burning somebody. If this PRO is truly an advancement (machine wise, not just coil wise) to the basic SE, then my suggestion to Mine Lab would be to offer to upgrade (if possible) people's existing SE's for a fee that makes them a profit and then they can stop worrying about who's getting pissed off or pissed on, because I imagine the majority of you would jump at such an upgrade, I know I would. And they could just make a statement such as " In order to offer our customers better products and continue to provide them with timely advancements in technology as they come about, we will periodically update and upgrade our machines and software. We apologize for the fact that we can not divulge those specific release dates in advance as we as a company would suffer stagnated sales, over stock and could ill afford to offer such cutting edge, technological advancements to you otherwise. Should it be possible for us to upgrade your older model to the newer model for a fee, than we will offer you such an opportunity. We continue to strive to go deeper, more accurately". .......Problem solved:smoke: Now give me my faster SE:cheers: The sentence about "faster & more powerful microprocessor" could be the old ad copy from the SE when it originally came out, however Mine Lab should consider changing it to be more specific if indeed the new Pro is not faster than the previous model; the SE.

The new 11" coil may take a while to be available. Until all EX-SE Pro orders are filled, and stock is readily available, Minelab usually waits before releasing just the coil. I'm hoping to have an idea of their time frame by next week but they might not be able to give me an accurate release date. I'm keeping a "wanted" list if you wish to be in the first lot we have available. Just send me an email.
Good hunting,
David@Dixie

When all explorer coils are interchangable, that would be a knife in our backs. N/T

Not sure what you meant by your statement?? All explorer coils are interchangable!
