This strategy bankrupt 2 other good detector manufacturers in the past. Bypassing the dealers who worked like crazy,spent much cash on inventory and shelf space are now overlooked. What happened to dealer loyality for building the brand?? John

I saw that Minelab Store page. Looks loke,they offer about 15% off List price - but the list prices are all wacko!

What's that with the list proce of,the GPX-5000 being $7200??

Codan, ML's parent company needs cash bad. They are still profitable but there's not enough cash flow to keep them healthy. They announced last year that they were developing new low cost detectors for "mass market" outlets.
