Ok here I go again, does anyone have an 8'' Tornado coil for sale for the Sovereign GT? used or reasonable new price, please let me know.

I am happy for you as I have seen how long you have been looking for one. Now go back to those spots you have hit with your larger coil(s) and be surprised at what you missed. I can say that with confidence as I have the 8" BBS tornado coil and have witnessed it with my own eyes. Also, don't be afraid to turn up the sensitivity with this smaller coil. Thanks Jim, I considered selling my GT but had a change of heart. Now that I found an 8'' coil I cant wait to try those trashy spots that the 10'' just cant deal with. I cant seem to find another machine on the market that I would rather use, I cant believe for the life of me why Minelab would discontinue such an awesome machine, as a matter of fact im sending my control box in for a refurb before they run out of parts!
There is really nothing to refurb in them except the large electrolitic capacitors, which anyone who knows how to solder could do. There are 3 I believe in the GT, which are likely blue and are the tall ones inside on the board. I changed them on my older XS Sovereign and they have helped the stability a bit. Other than those losing some microfarad tolerance with age, like 10 years or so of use, there is nothing else. I doubt they have made any upgrades to the GTs.

Good to know! but with Winter on the way here in NH I feel better knowing my GT is in tip top condition before Spring especially since I bought it as a used machine. Still cheaper than a new detector and with the Sovereigns being discontinued what else would I buy, nothing compares in my opinion.
