Minelad Advantage: Which pot is disc adjust? RT 101, 102 or 105? Here's a picture

wonder if someone has the older musketeer with a bad board if they could cut the excess off and repair their old musketeer? My local Minelab dealer said the repair center has had an older muskteer that he sent in for one of his customers for 2 months and can't figure out how to fix it. Minelab needs to get their act together.

I think Minelab must have taken the one size fits all approach to metal detector design. They bought one size board and use it for everything from the Sovs, ELites, Muskies, Advantages, as well as the Eureka Gold , and XT series and just have it etched for whatever machine it will be used in. They did the same thing with the Elite and Sov. The Sov uses all old style components which take up a great deal of space by today's standards while the Elite uses mostly tiny surface mount components which would have allowed Minelab to shrink the board size by close to 50% and that would have allowed for a smaller lighter housing/detector. Just as they could have on the detector pictured in the Post above. As much as I like the performance of Minelab detectors and use them all the time I am amazed at some of the mechanical things that they do!!!!!!!!! JMHO

I don't remember the transformer on my little green musketeer. Dose that one happen to have a switching supply or dose the transformer apear to be in the audio circuit.

have a transformer near the front-to me?? Under the gray ribbon in my photo above.

The top right preset pot is for setting the ground adjust when using the fixed position on your ground control, the other 2 pots are for setting the threshhold level in all metal and disc.

I didn't want to mess with the wrong thing and screw it up! <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> I appreciate your help!!! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
