Missing a tone on my Coinstrike

Member
Hi,
Today I went out for a while and set up my notch with no icons showing. I was hunting is the 525 setting as you all suggested. The targets in the pull tab and nickle ranger here registering on the meter but no tone was given. The Low tone was working and the high silver tone was as well. Any ideas...very disconcerting having to watch the meter as not to miss rings etc.
Thanks guys
Stephen

This is a common error. You said no icons showing...if you mean you took the squares off this will explain it. With the Coinstrike, No SQUARES mean NO TONE. Think of it as see a square, hear a tone. I only remove the zinc square occationally if I'm hunting a beach or modern area. As a relic type unit all squares on is best. HH. Bill

If the block is showing on the display, the category is accepted. If the block is not there you have notched it out. You will still get the numeric display, you just won't get the audio. I can't even remember how to notch something out:blush: I never notch anything out. I just discriminate the iron.

How many of the "try & sell" guys who tried the Coinstrike for an hour & claimed it sucks had all the squares off instead of on?

But don't feel bad......I did the same thing on my first day out

Too Many of you dedicated treasure hunters and relic hunters have stuck by this machine for it to be a bust. I am determined to make this my number one detector. I will be going relic hunting in the South east this fall with my brother and I hope by then for it to become my RELIC STRIKE! I will keep working. Keep watching for more posts and keep picking me up when I stumble!
Thank you
Stephen

:fisher::lmfao: Bill, I bet more than one made that mistake.

and hunting trash. It could have easily been named the "Relic$trike" (hopefully you have read John's Coinstrike homepage). CZ's are great for beaches & coinshooting, but I'll take the C$ in any relic type spot. Good luck, Bill
