Took advantage of some warmer weather and headed South to hit a heavily hunted Winter camp, as well as a battle site on private land. Hunted with owners permission. Top row of bullets was from the camp, as well as the two iron items. The iron object on the left looks like a cap box finial. Not sure if they ever used iron. Found lots of bras ones and have seen lead ones on ebay, but never an iron one. The other item is part of a pair of scissors. The grass was four inches high, but the LTD was up to the task, finding deep targets missed by previous hunts.
The second row of bullets came from the battle site. The larger .69 cal minie ball in the center has been pulled. I've found over a thousand bullets from this battle and that's the first pulled one I've ever found. The large lead piece on the bottom appears to be part of a sabot from a Hotchkiss shell. It matches one I have in my collection and rifling marks can be seen.
Fun to get out for a couple of days hunting after a long Winter.
Thanks for looking and keep on diggin'
