Mixed Bag of ATX Finds in Wet Sand & Shallow Water

I took a break from home improvement projects to hit the early morning low tide for a couple hours this morning at the Dog Beach at Long Beach, CA. I was mostly scanning at the low tide mark in the wet sand and in a few inches of water. This was the first time I've had the ATX out in about a month.

There was no shortage of targets including some tar encrusted iron hardware not shown in the photos. I did find some jewelry and a bit of silver, including a broken turquoise silver ring and a bracelet with silver charms.

That dog collar is brutal with all the spikes around it. It's a good thing that dog lost it, that's borderline cruel.

Most items were less than 12", but I did scoop close to 20" and found exactly what I thought that I would, a heavy sinker (3-oz), so I limited my depth of scooping to around 16".

Anyway, it was good to finally swing something other than a hammer and power tools ... Thanks for Looking.

Yeah that is a mixed bag. Better then worken on the house I bet

Hey that collar looks like the one my first wife got for me. Couldn't get used to it , so they both had to leave. Looks like you had a good time hunting. Never know what the next target will bring.

Yea, I hate the deep sinkers also, but what IF were a half pound, Mr. T. type, necklace?
What could one or two more scoops be worth? With all the jewelry, the gold must be close by.
I was wondering why a beach with the name of Dog. Now I see...the collar and 3 or 4 dog tags.

May the ring of gold be in your ears and its glitter in your scoop.

Yeah WaterWalker ... I would "Pity the Fool" that missed out on that wad of gold :)

Shucks, now I will not only have to dig deeper, but I will need a bigger SCOOP!

I think this should do...

The good news about the sinkers is when you fine them I gives you and idea all the heavy item are sinking. I love to fine them I know the gold rings and like items are not any deeper than the sinkers. As so have you purchased sinkers lately? I also fish and they cost a lot of $$$$.

Nice work! you nabbed a bunch of "gold" type targets...good sign, somebody else missed them...just a matter of time for you, possibly a multiple gold day in your future..Good Luck!:beers:
Mud.
