Mixed signal is a good one

I went out hunting with a friend who just bought an AT Pro. He wanted me to call him over when I got an interesting signal. Walking along, I got a nice signal that bounced from 51 to 53 and I dug a 1936 Buff

however my friend was busy so I moved on and soon after I got a signal with mid tones and high tones. The TID moved around but every time I heard the high tone, it would show an 80 or 81 plus the high tone was very nice and soft. After my friend came over and checked the signal we dug it and at around 4-5 inches came out this pretty (1954 Roosevelt dime)

Not all silver coins will give a nice clean high tone. I guess that's the moral of the story :)

Thats for sure! I got a 1944 GVI silver dime on Saturday that rang up like a modern dime. Scratchy growls and some high tones. VDI was all over the place, never expected a silver to pop out of the ground.

Great job on the Buff and silver! I agree with you 100%, not all silvers come up as a textbook high tone. I personally have dug many of those mixed signals myself and have gotten a few silver dimes that way. I use Pro mode with zero discrimination and hear a lot of iron grunts in the ballfield that I hunt. If I get a high tone that has iron grunts at the end of the swings but still hear the high tone repeating, even if it drops down to mid tone, I still will always dig it. Usually I find its a deep coin on edge. Congrats and HH :)
