Mixed signals w/ gtaX 750

This has happened to me very often. I will get a good solid bell-tone signal when the coil is just out ahead of the target. When I pinpoint and swing the coil directly over the target the disc. locks down hard on iron. Generally when I've dug these targets the disc was telling the truth and, perhaps as a bad habit, i've since started passing these off as not worthy of digging. I'm open for any thoughts or suggestions. I realize that without digging, I'll never know so should I play it safe and dig or take the Garrett's word for it? Most of the areas I hunt are a bit on the trashy side. Thanx in advance.

I know what you mean. I usually will go to pinpoint on my 1350 and check to see how many targets there are. If it is one target I move on and trust the discrimination. If it is more than one target I start digging. I hope this helps.:garrett:
