Plastic from The Hobby Store -- Gorilla glue -- Magnets -- Plastic ties---This will stop small things from falling out -- Hope it Helps someone out -- Graw

Will damp sand still go through it?

n/t

The damp or wet sand will sit in there like a lump of clay! It does in almost every scoop! :(

Maybe elimanating the plastic, but gluing the magnets next to the holes would still allow sand out but catch and stop the smaller metal bits from falling through? I don't know, I work with wood not metal. But it's a great idea Graw, I often have smaller bits that the detector picks up but the scoop will not. Let us know how the field test goes.

Test --- In dry sand it works just like any other scoop and in the water I just rinse the mud and sand -- Graw
