Mole Tunnels

Has anyone besides me experienced false signals over mole tunnels. This weekend I was detecting a little used soccer field which was infested with moles. The little buggers had tunneled everywhere. Several times I got solid repeateable signals in the dime range at around 3" to 4" and digging down I found a tunnel and nothing there........no dime....no copper penny....nada!

So, I'm wondering if the gap in the ground (the tunnel) creates the same kind of false signal that suddenly lifting the coil at the end of a sweep can create. I guess it coulda been a mole carrying a dime back and forth through the tunnels just to drive me crazy.

Yeah, those are Treasure Moles. We had 'em here awhile back, but I guess they found all the good stuff and moved on.
