Monday finds

Here are a few different kind of finds for a Monday. I went to look at a couple of detectors that an older gentleman had for sale due to him getting out of the hobby. We chatted for a good while and I paid him for the detectors and went to load them in the car. When I turned around to shake hands with him he had the three display cases in his hands and said he wanted to pass these along to someone else who would enjoy them. I tried to talk him into keeping them but he demanded I take them. I thanked him and told him they would be taken care of and passed along to someone else when I am no longer able to dig myself. I think it is great that he thought enough of his collection and our hobby to pass them along to someone who will take care of them.

That US baby plate is a sweetie and the other finds are not to shabby either........:clapping:

Digger, I bought both of them, could not pass them up. He still has a nice Minelab Explorer II with two extra coils and accessories, thats just not my kind of detector.

Killer score! Yes I would buy him a nice Gift certificate for dinner and perhaps a nice hat if he is a veteran you could get him say a Korean,Vietnam vet hat ect.

Wow...now that really makes you wonder if his doctor just told him he's not got much time left or something...selling his gear, and GIVING you those displays of his trophys...you must have made an impression on him regarding your hunting skills...I sure would like to hear some of the stories that old guy could tell!

Mudpuppy, he is just fine. He just bought them a new motorhome. He and his wife hunted from Florida to (I think he said) Ohio. I am sure that he did not give me everything he has.
