Monsieur Deus has been locating some good finds this week from a new site.

I thought that this unusal one is worth posting wherever any of us we detect.

Its a Saxon Zoomorphic Saxon strap end with the rivet pin still in place although the strap rotted away many hundreds of years ago.

It measures just under 2.5" in length and dates from around 1000 years ago.

Out of interest I was using the large coil and it came from about 12" depth. :) Jerry.

Thanks DD, had 2 more saxon items out from the same area.

2 with the small coil and I with the larger coil.

Both seem to do the same job when going very slowly.:thumbup: Jerry.
