I stopped by a big, old house next door to another big, old house that I got shot down at a few weeks ago. The owner of the second house is all for it and gave me some pointers on where to look as well as a nice history lesson on the property. Between an hour and a half on Thursday afternoon and three hours this afternoon I managed to pull 10 tokens (one of which is not pictured here because I gave it back to the owner of the house who then donated it to the historical society). The tokens are all 5-centers for Mason's Drug Store, and it turns out the house used to be the drug store and it was also the home of the owner (who was also a banker). Also dug were two Indian head cents (1907 and 1890), a handful of wheats dating back to 1919, a 1913 Barber dime (only my 2nd), a 1917 starred variety SLQ (a first for me), and a 1963 Roosevelt. The locket is also very nice looking, but it is damaged. I know the yard still holds more, but it might take a bit of rain to make it more readily found. The owner also got me permission at one neighboring house built around the same time and is working on a permission at the other adjacent house that I was originally turned down at. Apparently they're good friends and he's pretty sure he can get me in there. Best day I've had in awhile!
