Monte - Just a comment about your observations below regarding the 5.3 Eclipse......

I've just started to notice the same observations you have regarding the 5.3 Eclipse in how it does so well in so many varied conditions. I haven't fully tried it out in that really 'bad' ground down in Central Virginia as of yet, but I'm going to do just that for the upcoming event. I live just outside of Philadelphia and the ground out my way isn't too bad at all. The 5.3 works wonderfully in my area and does exactly what you have stated numerous times, especially in the high trash areas. I was very happy to hear about your results in very bad, highly mineralized ground with your 5.3. I just recently purchased the D2 coil and will try it out there as well, but I have a feeling my main coil is going to be the 5.3 Eclipse. I'll let you and the others know how I make out with it in that notoriously bad ground I will be digging in at the end of October. Thanks again for sharing your experience and insight. I find your comments to be highly educational.

I'm just west of Reading, in a little town called Sinking Spring.

There's no perfect coil, or detector, and it takes a good coil and detector, combined, to really shine.
