Monte was a great guy to talk to, I had a few dealings with him and spoke to him on the phone, just a humble guy and a asset to the hobbie..Ya know ,a well known YouTuber usto say things to Monte on these forums that were way out of line,,and I never could figure out why it was so important for this guy to be right that he had to say the things he did..I hope he feels good about himself..RIP Monte

But I found my feedback.... https://www.findmall.com/threads/excellent-transaction-with-monte-whites.132479/ .... since that time... every time Iv'e needed an answer.... Monte's name pops up in my search... He was easy to follow... Cause he was everywhere.... God Speed Partner

Truly he will be missed.
I wish a moderator or group of moderators could take the time to go thru All his post and create a Wall of Knowledge sorted by machine and subjects. Making a pinned permanent posting.
Would be a benefit to All.
And would most certainly bring a great deal of New traffic to this awesome site !!!

Oh wow! So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a man of great knowledge as detecting goes. He answered my questions immediately. I liked how he took all our questions and dissected into smaller parts for all of us to understand the answers. My condolences to his family. RIP Monte... TC-NM

Monte was a true asset and ambassador for the hobby, RIP Monte and thank you.

Pretty sure I know the "basher" being referenced here. A legend in his own mind, he couldn't figure out a Tesoro so of course that meant no one else possibly could either. Monte knew better.

I remember a few years back Monte had a whole slew of detectors get stolen out of his vehicle. I never heard, I hope he got at least some of them back.

I had a late evening conversation with Monte a couple of years ago when I received my Garrett Apex. It was constantly chattering and pretty useless. I had no experience with a modern detector and wondered if the chattering was normal. He was very knowledgeable and gracious on the phone; I followed his advice and resolved the issue with the Apex. He will be truly missed by the detecting community.
