The one button is a US Navy Waterbury Co button, but is a newer one from the old forms! The back says, W.CO'S on top of the loop! I haven't checked on the gilded button with arrows as yet! Back is rusty! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I am partial to old buttons, having dug a lot of CW ones. The gilted one might be notable, check it out online. steve in so az

Thanks Steve, since it has no indication of who the maker was on the back, I tried searching but couldn't find anything on it! It may be in the musical or band buttons and have not tried them as yet! Sure lots of buttons to look through on the Net and Ebay! Would take a lot of looking and searching! Please, if anyone knows anything about the gilded button with arrows, will you let me know or where I can go to check for info! Thanks! May God Bless! Ma Betty

Thank you, Leslie, for looking and I like Smokey the Bear pin, also! In fact I like most of everything I've found and that is why I kept them to view and find out later whether anything is worth keeping and has a money value to it! You will notice my earlier finds weren't cleaned up, but if I did, since I knew nothing about how to clean them, then, I ruined some and I'm glad I didn't try to clean most of the stuff and many coins! May God Bless for you to keep on :detecting: and finding the goodies! Amen! Ma Betty

That eagle is newer, and the tin back gilded button is older, but I don't think 1800's. Nice ones thogh!

Thanks Mike! I know it is newer as I checked out the Eagle Button and it is a newer W.CO'S button made from the old forms! The older ones have Waterbury Co. on them! Still don't know about the gilded button though! Very difficult to search for any info without a company to go by, as back is very rusted! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I really like the "I'm Helping Smokey" pin!!

Lisa

The newer Navy button are like the ones on my uniforms. I served from 1974 to 1982. Where did you find most of your stuff Ma? I know in the ground, but I mean where was the location of the ground you found it in.

Thanks Lisa! I don't know if they make those badges any more or not! They still advertise Smokey the Bear on TV Commercials though! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Well, DK, that is a good question, for I've been in more places to detect than I can probably remember, when I had someone else to go with! My ex and I went to many parks, playgrounds, school grounds..... but I wouldn't go to most of them now by myself, as they are in North St. Louis or North County and dangerous territories for a woman out detecting alone! I've been to Civil War Sites and a few yards, plus a Catholic area called The Hill Fathers (?) which was closing but nothing much found, as my friend and I didn't have very long to detect and we didn't go back! Wherever and whenever I could my ex and I were out :twodetecting: or club members who were friends and then I went by myself to the places I knew were safe, like over in IL to parks and the Veterans meeting place with fields and grounds to hunt...by asking permission! Yep, I sure had fun and enjoyed my finds no matter what they were, but I've grown older and COPD and Osteo-Arthritis has disabled me from doing lots of things....even limited on doing house work, which goes too long without a good cleaning!

I hope and pray you get out often as you can and find stuff, including nice relics and goodies! I also started in 1981 with sincere hunting, although did some in 1980, after joining the Metal Detecting Club and we went out once a month and to Club Hunts and etc. Nice times together, but all things must end at one time or another and I quit the club in 2007 and with looking after Cliff, who was in ill health and now myself, I haven't hunted much! I dream about it but that's about all!  May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
