When I hunt these fields, I spot and pick up many cool shards of glass and crockery. Here is a sink full of many colors and types!

Here are some of the neat pieces I found. Notice the one is the face of a porcelin doll. The brown piece says ASSA on it, probably association? The green one saya La--- Soap on it.

Lastly here are some very cool rocks! I love the one with the vein in it, It is almost as big as a baseball. The white one in the back has all kinds of sparkling diomonds in it! :) Ok, maybe they are not real!

Neat finds Mike - that soap one may very well be LAVA soap. Love to find old ornate things. Modern things are frequently dull and uninteresting. Steve in so az

how about MASSACHUSETTS? (The state - never could spell that state right)

Have to come help you detect there :) Cool items, Mike.

The rock with the red vein in it is that what they mean by trying to get blood out of a rock?

Didn't think of that one! Come on down!

That is what I use! :) I will get some goodies from that spot yet! Only been there an hour so far!

If the glass and porcelin pieces were found at one perticular spot it usually tells me that someone used that spot for a trash dump at one time. I usually look the area over real good and try to determine where the house sat at. But in an open field, especially if its been plowed, sometimes the house location is hard to find. Look for square cut stones that was used for foundation piers the house sat on. The tree line sometimes tells the house location. Before air conditioning shade trees were considered a must around a home. I bet if you keep searching the site there is more to be found. Keep swingin and findin.
May GOD Bless

I use 1800's plat maps to find where the house used to be. Once I walk the field and start finding the shards, brick, etc... I know I am in the right spot. I then hunt the whole area. Many great finds have been made! :)
