My neighbor, Glenn, who mows my lawn for me int he summer called me to see how I was doing and informed me that his mother of 92 years had passed away Sat and will be buried Thursday, Please pray for comfort and peace for him and his sister and for good weather for the funeral and burial! Supposed to be some more bad weather with the white stuff coming and may have a White Christmas....I am sure my neice and others are praying for it, as they like to have the white flakes falling for whiteness on Christmas Day! Some pray for and some pray against it, but whatever God provides for us, we accept whether we like it or not to drive in and upon....sure makes the kids happy to be able to go sledding while school is out for Christmas and through New Year Day! :) May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Just said a prayer for Glenn and his family.

You said New Day and you got me reminded of Noah. When the ark was opened and the water had all gone you will read that it was the First Day of the year....this lead me to remember that when we get saved it is...the First Day of a new life in Christ. How many of us think of New Year's at the beginning of a new calendar....but never think of God or Jesus or even the Holy Spirit....for like Noah and the ark...it is a New Day and for many of us it is another new day. The Old Testament always points to Jesus and if we think about it - the Cross.

How do I come to that? On one side of the flood was sin....the other side after the flood was no sin and in between was a big gap (the Cross is what allows us to cross over from the law of sin and death to life in Jesus) And when we speak of baptism we speak of LOTS of water...as John baptized people in the river. So the symbolisms are there - pointing to a new life a new day in Jesus.

Thank you Father, God, and thank you Jesus. Thank you too Holy Spirit.

Praying! Just so you know, I am not one of those doing a snow dance. Had enough of the white stuff (and ice) for a few weeks.

Hi Pete, Thanks for your prayers and your post, we can also face each morning that we awake as a new day to live for and serve God through Jesus Christ our blessed Savior and Lord and then each New Year's Day is beginning of another year to do the same and to remember Christ for 365 more days with new dawnings to begin over should we fail in the previous day in some way! We, who have Jesus, can rejoice that He lived, died and lived again that we might be saved and have life and have it abundantly here and eternal life forever in the presence of Jesus, our Almighty God born in the flesh, Who took upon Himself all our sins which we must repent of (turn away from) and be sorry for to have the forgiveness in HIs mercy and His grace! His mercy endures forever and never fails but we need to ask and bow before HIm in humbleness before our King of kings and Lord of lords! May God continually bless you and Sherry with a Very Merry Christmas and with everyday blessings in all of the New Year...a new beginning for us and for our nation, also of ten more years for the Census was taken this year of 2010 and some changes are being made in the Congressional seats that many states will hold more or less of! I think God answered many prayers and will answer more when what has happened because of the Census turns the election in the favor of Christians and Conservative states; but we must continue in prayer for our good and for God's purpose!!!! Amen! Ma Betty

Thank you both Mikes and Liz....The weather is gray looking and dreary here, today, but I go to dr tomorrow so hope nothing happens until afterwards so I can get my office visit over with until next year...which isn't far off... I remember when we would get out of school for Christmas break and the teachers would say, See you all next year...which seemed like a long time to us kids but wasn't!  May God Bless each with lots of blessings and, Liz, I hope Loren is feeling much, much better so all of you can enjoy Christmas Day without any sickness! Amen! Ma Betty
