More than a few keepers found this Saturday!

Had a pretty good day today and the silver was plentiful. I got a total of 14 Silver which include 1 Barber Half dated 1900-O, 2 Barber Dimes dated 1908 and 1912-d, 1 Canadian Dime dated 1903-H, 9 Mercury Dimes dated 1919,1923,1926-d,1928-s,1935,1936-d,1936-s,1943-d,and 1944-s and 1 Roosevelt Dime dated 1962-d. Not bad for one outing! I also picked up a 1911 5-ORE Foreign Coin and there is a pic of front and back below. I found 1 Liberty V-Nickel dated 1910 also. 5 Indian Heads came to light and the dates are 1895,1897,1901,1905,and 1907. And of course there were a few wheats found as well. The dates for them are (2)1910,1913,1917,1919,(4)1919-s,(2)1920,1924,1925-d,(2)1926,1926-d,1936-d,1937,1940,and 1941-d. And lastly I found a 1920 Canadian Penny and it is pictured with the Wheats. So far I have found 15 Silver for the weekend and hope to find more Sunday. I cleaned up James silver for him on Saturday as most was black being in wet ground, I think it came out looking good for as bad as some of it was. I used Electrolysis and loosen the black and used ashes and water to clean off the black.
This shows what can be found with some research that James and a few do in the winter month and seen some of the pages and pages of papers on different sites they have found. Many would drive by many of these sites and not even know anything was ever there unless you did some research of old maps and read different articles from some of the towns centennial books.
In the last few years I have seen more barber, seated and IH being found then we ever did back in the 1970 when I started hunting, some of this is the better detectors, some is the fact more are doing research then before as hunting spot are not as plenty full as they were. Now they are finding area to detect that have not had anyone on them since the early 1900 to the 1930s that were used in the 1800s, so they don't have to put up with lot of this modern trash either.
Anyway James you and Barber-boy did well on Saturday, but you know I got lucky on Saturday nite as I got $200 for $10, so i added another $10 and got a $300 too, so I did well too with $500 for $20 and didn't have to look for a spot to go, but I bet you had more fun.

I've done some research late winter early spring but was denied permission on some.Gave up and just hit local parks and fairgrounds, some luck.. research is kind of hard sometimes as local library books have limited knowledge and museums only opened few times a year.keep swingin

and it is tough to keep doing research after so many turndowns but there is some that give the go-ahead and that is when all those rejections don't matter anymore because you are on new grounds and who knows what you will discover at the new site. Hope you can get permission onto a new site and thanks for the post Diggingfix.
