More Wheaties...

Pete in MI

New member
went to the field next to the school...someone said get there and do the field before they start hauling dirt away...so went down there to see if I might detect it...figured the grass and weeds might be too high to do anything.

I was pleasantly surprised to see someone on one of those big riding lawnmowers cutting the grass in the vacant lot. I stopped him and chatted him up. Seems the mileage for the fire department didn't pass...no building is going to be constructed there any time soon.

So while he was cutting the grass so I can detect it tomorrow or soon, I went back to the school. 8 Wheaties: 1 - 1917, 1 - 1924, 2 - 1939, 1 - 1941, 2 - 1944 and a 1945. 2 Memorial pennies, a 1955 Nickel, a button and a pin which migh be Santa with a pack on his back or something.

That is 3 buttons so far from there...never got a button before anywhere with any detector I've owned...is it :minelab: or just at the right place.

Hey Pete,

I know the old stone school, I went to dances there about 20 years ago. Hope they don't tear down the building, it is a neat structure. It's a couple of miles from my Mom's cottage.
