I went up to see Mom and on the drive home I hit a few places that looked good that are too far from here to detect. I did pretty well, I think. No silver. I found the tiny bead and knew immediately that it was gold. Turns out it's 10K and weighs .8 g. I looked for more but that was all there was. If anybody ever wondered if the 2500 would find small gold or work as a quasi-nugget hunter, here is your proof. I also finally got a half dollar for 2009. Last year at this time I had 18. FYI, I also ended the year with 18 so I was on a pretty long half drought. Also another Sac, 2001 this time. I'm finding a lot of dollar coins lately just like my pal Bill. A friend sent me a lucky coin and it seems to be working! Coin from the DR, 3 or 4 junk rings and a whole lot more.
I haven't posted 3-4 hunts because it was mostly lots of clad. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
My Pro-Pointer started wailing high-low-high-low which is the low battery alarm. A new battery fixed her right up. I guess 5000 coins on one battery is pretty fair.

The chain is junk.

Yeah, that GTI 2500 is a good prospecting unit. I haven't personally had much luck with it while nugget shootin', but I always play around with it while in gold country. I always loose patience with it and switch to Scorp or LS, but GTI is a fantastic machine and probably my over all favorite. GTI's have found thousands of nuggets all over the world. Happy Hunting!
