Eric and Bill I would like to be able to tow a large coil behind a motor bike here in Aus, one of the problems is electrical interferance from the motor bike that is picked up by the SD coil any ideas on shielding or on towing large coils Thank you Bob Creasy

Hi Bob,
Ignition interference is a dickens of a job to get rid of. Also, interference from a vehicle alternator can be just as bad. Try disconnecting the field winding of the alternator and see if that gives an improvement. It means that the battery won't charge while the field is off, but the ignition circuit takes little current. Alternatively, hook the detector up to a mountain bike and keep fit at the same time.
Eric.
