If I manage to get at least 3 days off near the end of June, I'll be going up in the Alps. There are mountain creeks, a river, WW1 trails, and a mountain full of blue mineral specimens in the area I'm interested in. Should I fill a backpack with all the essentials to do all three, or should I keep it light and carry only what I decide to search for at that moment? The sluice would be used close to my base camp, while the mountain with the blue specs is about 5 km from there. I'd use the MD along the trails. So, to sum up, would I really need all my equipment with me even if I only decide to do one thing at a time? Besides quartz, can gold be found stuck to blue minerals?
