I started with a cheap $100 Bh detector, and found my first silver. Moved up quickly to my first Fisher F2 found tons of clad, and it became my back up buddy hunt machine next to my F4. The F4 found me a few silvers, and I learned alot about Fishers between the two. Just pulled the trigger on a used F75 Ltd. I look forward to not having to upgrade so much, and to digging every chance I get with it. I hope I can get as good with the new machine as I was getting to be with that F4. I have been lurking on this site for a couple years now absorbing all the info, and trying it out in the field. Thank you to the guys who post all those great tips. The most useful tip I read, and it helped me find a 1918 Merc at 8 inches with the F4. VID is ok, but (dig by tones.) I enjoy seeing the nice old finds too.
