I'm curious, is it possible to boost the sensitivity in the GQ to be on par with the GQ v2? Is this something that would benifit my usage on a salt water beach or is it more for nugget hunters? I've dug small gold rings at unbelievable depth's already!
Thanks
Bob

My apologies to all with me getting excited describing the new V.2 version Goldquest SS.
If you have a earlier version of the Goldquest SS there is no need to make any changes to what you have now.
Re-making the new circuit board for the Goldquest SS some slight gains were made, but I certainly wouldn

Almost thought I had to sell mine off due to obsolesence.

Hello Eric or Mr. Bill,
Adding on the DD coil feature will be a great set-up for those wanting more coverage, The DD coil will even help the unit operate in areas the ground wouldn't allow before.
What size DD coil will Eric be making for the Goldquest and you mentioned a DD coil for the "Beachscan", So Eric will be making a 15uS coil too? Sounds exciting

We are still working out the size.
A coil that works on the Goldquest can be fitted to the Beachscan, but not in reverse.

Thanks Bill,
Even if Eric chooses's an 11" coil shell to support the DD coil the difference in depth is not decreased much compared to the 11" mono coil, I've conducted depth test between the 11" mono and 11" DD coil Reg made with only about an inch in difference in favor of the 11" mono coil. I've also used the Infinium with the 10"X14" DD coil and would prefer a smaller coil in the 11" inch range, The added weight of the larger DD is not worth the hassle, The 11" inch or maybe even a 12" inch is all the user needs on the DD.
The user will gain back this loss of depth with stabitly when searching under difficult ground conditions and the added DD coverage helps the user cover more ground.
Currently, For beach hunting I still use Eric's 11" mono coil for my GQ because of Eric's insulation process on the coils, They are the best made coils in the world. Reg's DD coil was designed for the desert and this is were his DD coil shines best.
With Eric's special process of insulating coils his DD coil will be one to treasure on both land or sea.
Please do consitter going with an 11" or 12" DD coil, The larger coils such as the 10X14 are not worth the hassle. Too much weight and drag when searching in the surf.
Thanks again,
Paul Ca)

Hi Paul,
I am waiting for a sample of an 11in DD shell to come in, from a company in Bulgaria.
Eric.

That's great Eric,
No need to go to a larger size coil when the 11" DD best suits the user's needs for searching in the surf or on Dry land, You'll find it to be the perfect size coil.
Thanks for the update,
Paul (Ca)
