Mud be nimble, Mud be quick, swept up some GOLD with the Fisher stick!

All this talk about elusive gold got me worked up into a lather this am!...Awoke to heavy rain, started reading the forums and watching the radar...the ice front just 10 miles north, Hey! whats this? the weather radar looks like there will be just a tiny window of Opportunity before everything goes to ice! Tiny little patch of clear air with the green and blue right behind, maybe an hour! So out I went at 10, told the wife I'm gong in, gonna do a deep bounce dive ouside the green zone, only get a shot at this area once or twice a year, when its cold, windy and miserable out. Otherwise, a fellow will most likely get shot AT in this area! So, after she checked to see if my Life insurance policy was current, she said go on!
This ring is 2gr of 14kp, came in at 24 on the TID, I was running soft and fast, but really focused on the area, thinking gold, and seeking low tones. 53 sens, -3 thresh, DP tones, a ring this size is only good for 5" max depth with these set-ups, so I would not recommend them on the beach, but a fellow cant run very hot in the trash, and sort of has to be very light on the coil, gently raising and lowering it as a signal appears. Anyway, big park, so I went beneath a tree behind the Basketball court in the trashiest area I could find, and stabbed this down in the grass roots at maybe 2"...just a foot away was another 24 signal, and it was foil of course..well, with the clad today, I'm up to 10,126 coins, $803.29 ...The plan is to of course try to slam a few school totters over holiday (Christmas)break, hopefully the woodchips will not be froze tight, but the bottom is falling out of the temps, maybe the dirt will be soft, but its gonna be one miserable week weather wise. The F70 got me 3 gold rings this year, one in a totlot last Jan, one on the beach this summer, and this one in the dirt. Got a few more with the other gear.

Sometimes Mud, to get the gold.
one simply has got to be ever so bold

You ventured out and swung away,
and got yourself some 14 k

For certain, you had a great year,
now lets both have a glass of some holiday cheer.:drinking:

Way to go mud! ( KCH )

Way to go Mud !!! You are the man. (CCH) hmmmmmmmm.

Bad news fellers...I lost that ring to an old Polish woman shortly after I got home! Note to self, a detectorist can just as easily get robbed at home as in the field! The Fpoint was of no use as a deterrent or distraction of any sort either! "Oh how cute, is that some sort of nose hair trimmer"?
Mud

I know about those home robberies myself. Most of us do, I suspect. And no, there doesn't seem to be a deterrent. Unless, "no hon, nothing good today," is deployed. Then, though, you are still going to pay the piper at some point. Best to fess up probably. HH jim tn

Great job on the gold, and your numbers for the year are just out standing, Maybe a pickle jar full of Walkers for next years goal?

Mud, you seem to be dominating all aspects of the metal spectrum. Gold is the hardest metal to find and you seem to haul'em in.

Awesome finds....

Good Job, Mud!! Would like to see a close up of the ring! By the way you need to have Silver Jim, post a pic of the "Five Morgan Silver Dollar's" he got last night! The man is a legend in thses parts!

I did the research
I used the right tool

I assumed that was the rule
But alas, I was married
I was a fool

Congratz annd condolences

Hahahahaha...... Awesome Revier !!!

:rofl::rofl:
Went out for Gold, that was my goal...
And lost it to a danged old Pole!

If it sparkles or if it shines, she hollers out, "Thats Mine Mine Mine!"

Dang, some of us can do other then just swing
looking for silver or a golden ring.
Prose can get written, who's to say
maybe we missed our calling, hey, hey.
But regardless, one thing is sure,
we'll never quit looking for that 24 pure.

Happy holidays, all. HH jim tn
