Went to my son's marching band concert Thursday night. The band played all the pieces that they played this year and then the band instructor handed out a few awards. My son thought he had a shot at Most improved Rookie of the year. He plays in several different bands, but this was his first year in marching band. Someone else got that award. After that the director gave out an award for excellence. This is a $100 excellence scholorship award for a person who strives over and beyond whats expected of them in their music. My son Kody won that award. This $100 goes in his band account and he can use this money any way he wants to towards band. He was very happy, and his dad is pretty proud!
