Music speaks sometimes when we least expect it...but when God knows when we need it..

I just listened to a song by Bob Bennett called "Lord of the Past".

I found on YouTube someone else singing it while playing the guitar. (Warthog I think you would enjoy this if your pain isn't stopping you from playing this).

Not exactly the way Bob Bennett sings it but still all the words are there. Here is the YouTube link:

Here is the link to Bob Bennett lyrics of this song....1989...where have I been?

http://lyrics.christiansunite.com/lyrics_1624_15.shtml

This song has spoken to me in that I have for so long been distrustful of others, shutting myself away in my private little room away from those who have done me wrong and lied to me, mistreated me and so much more. Sherry has told me many times to "let go of the past". I could not do that..I can't do that...well up until now. I have looked to Jesus as Lord of my life...present and future. Not once have I considered asking Him to reign over my past...all the hurts, all the lies, etc. Now I can see something I could not see before...and let go of it by asking Jesus to be the Lord of my Past.

Music is tremendous when it touches the soul.

We have to let Him have it all

God bless

Give it all to Jesus when singing, I Surrender All! All to Him I Surrender and if we don't then we will be tormented and discouraged by those things that we haven't turned loose of or given all our burdens for Jesus to bear! I've been there, Pete, and I know what you have been feeling and the hurts you've been suffering! I have hidden myself from others for years and years if I could, but then when going to Church and receiving Jesus as my own personal Savior, these began to heal...it took many years of studying diligently the Bible and seeking Jesus more and more before I had peace in my soul and the true love in my heart....even for myself! Love begats love while hatefulness begats hate, and sin begats more sinfulness!

Oh glory Hallelujah that we have found Jesus, Who was always there for us by His dying in our place and taking every sinner''s sins upon Himself, those of the past and those who're born in the future! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for Your all forgiving love and for living, dying and living again so that we might know you, by being saved from our sins and living with You forever more! Amen! God Bless! Betty
