Those are nice finds for sure and definitely a trigger guard But more modern than a Musket in my opinion. Get out there
 
Is that made of an aluminum alloy or pot metal. Looks modern to me also. The metal looks like the type that would be on a Marlin model 60. Is that black paint or bluing?

It's solid brass
 
That trigger guard looks old to me.. I believe the part just in front of the trigger guard with the hole in it is for a sling mount
The section that is below the trigger appears wider than the rest of the guard too which is common on older trigger guards.
