I'm a fairly new Deus owner and been hunting at my hunted out woods site from mid-thirties. I found two stakes in the ground, they are 29 feet apart 9" long, square with a pounded down head. I've hunted the site a lot and never found these stakes before. No idea what they were for.

Have found a lot of little lead roofing nail heads, but I often found them with my Minelab, too.

Been finding these overall buttons. Most say Sanfordized, one says Ox Hide, they register in the 90's. I never found any buttons like this till I got the Deus. They were not deep. Other than a brass tool tag, that's about all I've found with the Deus besides some shotgun or rifle shells. I found a Merc dime at another site...but it was laying on top the ground, DUH.

Prior to this in 7 or 8 years, same site with the Minelab 704 I found about 3 wheats and a couple WPA tags. I keep going back with the Deus, because it seems like there would have had to have been more coins lost than 3 wheat pennies, but finds are more and more scarce. Sites really DO get hunted out, if there's nothing there, there's nothing there. I think a new hunting site will produce a lot more than a new detector, LOL. Have got a few new sites lined up, hoping for a change of luck.

Well pplinker.

The Deus will find those iron backed buttons as good as any detector out there.
Why?
It is 2 fold really.
Deus loves round,,,and Desu recovery speed can handle the mix of nonferrous and ferrous backed buttons,

As far as your site being hunted out.

If you haven't hunted your site using 18khz, reactivity levels 2, 2.5, 3 , and 4,,,using low and no disc,,,,likely the site still contains some goodies.

I see also here where some folks it seems hunts for coins in 4khz and 8khz, and they think they are getting all possible Deus detectable coins.
Wrong

If there are any maskers present in sites in places,,,very possible to leave an infact detectable coin in a site.

Deus is a unique detector.

In search of all nonferrous objects in a site that has iron and nails,,,,Deus can't find ALL with just one set of settings.

Trust me on this.
I have a few sites, where I have proved this over and over again.
That's right Deus was head to head against itself while suspect targets were being swept.
