MX Sport and other Whites Machines

Still have winter and cabin fever here...so lots of time to think and wonder. I was glad to see the MX Sport come in at msrp $799 and not the $1349 price that was floating around earlier.

But the more I thought about it, it seemed a strange price in that it is smack dab between the M6 (msrp $699) and the MXT All Pro (msrp $899). Provided that the MX Sport does have the performance as being stated by Whites, then it looks like it will all but kill off those two models. Why buy a M6 when for a $100 more get the MXS or why buy the MXT All Pro when for a $100 less, will get you a MXS ? Plus as a added benefit the machine will be waterproof.
So I wonder, is the MXT(s) and M6 going to be phased out and fill those spots with future models, in fact, will this be the last of the aluminum body machines(other then the V3i/VX3) going all plastic forward ?

Or am I just over thinking this........either way, what do you think the future of Whites machines will be ?

Times change, and just my opinion, but I think you will see is White's moving all their models toward the smaller plastic housing and newer displays which is what all most all the makers are doing. Price point, features and performance are what consumers are looking for. White's has to change to compete with all the companies for market share. Only so many buyers at the top end high priced detectors, and my guess is the profit margin is just as good or better on the lower priced machines. Seems that there are new machines coming this year from a few of the companies. Garrett has a lower priced unit, kind of rehash of their lower priced units. Fisher is rumored to be working on something. Even White's is supposed to be doing more. Wonder what the big guys and small companies overseas have on the drawing table?

Yes word is Whites has a super duper one in the works, wanting to get it if it's a coin/gold detector and not just a gold detector, have to wait and see. Going to be a good year for detectorist to choose and pick new models for once. shortribs

Hi friends,
Today,We have an other professional waterproof metal detector that's recently born,2016,and was designed by White's,It's the MX SPORT.
The MX Sport is extremely effecient because it does almost everything very well; coin, relic, jewelry, and nugget detecting.
In the first hand, MX Sport comes with round searchcoil 25cm Double D,(DD),it can use a variety of coils like 25*14cm DD elliptical.
In the second hand,MX Sport has a great set of target id tone discrimination options. The items noted below only indicate each target tone category and an item commonly found in that category.
Read more and download MX SPORT manual

Good luck friends

I'm gettin' one for sure. I need a water detector anyways. I like the fact that Whites is back in the game an ''American Made'' company! And I still have my XL-PRO for those Nostalgic Metal Box Detecting Days.

Yeah I will be getting the MX Sport but I will be keeping my M6 as a backup. It has served me well and I happen to like the metal box design.

Good for 3 meters underwater. Is that fresh water and/or Salt water or both? I do alot of beach hunting and I could use a machine that's good for underwater in ocean.

Hopefully get mine before next week and take it swimming

Might need to start a gofundme account to get one. Wife might not turn the money loose. LOL. I just cant part with my E-trac and F75. I love them but would like a 3rd detector to go back to all the local sites I pounded to see what it is made of.

It may be a gold nugget detector from what I have heard. There has been some testing of the machine in different areas last summer.

I will be getting the MX Sport . I think it will be replacing the older machines in that price range . Whites seem to be waking up a bit . Wonder what else is in the pipeline ?

Do what I did get the Detector and get rid of the Wife! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wondering , do headphones come with the detector ? or can we use the ones we already have ?

Land headphones come with it as does an adapter cable that allows you to use any standard 1/4" plug phones on it . . . just remember, that cable is not waterproof at the point you plug your headphones into it.

Underwater phones will be available as well
