MXT finds

Good job. What type of terrain were these found in? I still have yet to find anything worth my time. I'm new so I suppose it will come. I'd be extremely thrilled with those kind of finds.

Good Job

All were found dry sand beach. You have one of the best - the MXT, it's in my opinion is tops. Give it a little time, dig everything in beginning. pay attention to VDI. Like any machine it take some hours to learn. I'm using the 6x10 DD also.
You have some of the best beaches to hunt, Cocoa beach and surrounding area. Live in Cocoa Beach for four years.
Get out and hunt, you will find the gold. HH

What kind of VDI numbers do you get for gold rings? Do the numbers hold steady and are they generally the same numbers all the time? i.e. nickels @ 18.
I notice that it

VDI numbers range anywhere from +0 for small gold like earring nut - stud, +2 on up to the 40s. They are not the same for all rings. Take into account soil, depth and other metal that may be laying close. The ring at the top right came in at +27 after removing a bottle cap beside it, while the coin ring came in at +22, with a double beep using the 6x10, this I figure was because the ring shank was pointed up with the coin down. Silver rings will show up as coins. The pixy ring which is silver reads +72 and also gives a double beep when face down with 6x10.
The VDI number will tend to hold steady on a gold ring as like the coins. Zinc pennies after corroding will give some odd readings at times, and bottle caps will normally bounce around on VDI reading. Only other thing I may add is to take your time, don't rush, and use very little discrimination if any.
