MXT Pro loose armcuff? :confused:

I got my MXT Pro about a month ago and not too long ago the armcuff (the place where you rest your arm) is now a little bit loose and when i sweep from side to side i can feel it moving and it makes this little noises that bug the hell out of me. I read in the manual it says that you can tighten the screws on it, but mine will not budge for some odd reason....not to mention the one on the left side is blocked by the threshold dial. Can this looseness be fixed? Or will i just have to live with it?

I've had to replace mine and it's tight again. Can you put a small tiny piece of foam or the like to make it more stable? HH, Nancy

Try pinching the two sides of the arm cuff toward each other with one hand and tighten the nut slightly with the other hand. It usually only takes a slight turn to take out all of that wiggle slack.

Some people will put a strip of tape inside but I take the cuff off and squeeze it together a little, put it back on and that works fine for me. It has been years since it has wiggled.

I usually add a piece of black electrical tape to the bottom of the tube where the arm cuff goes. Then tighten the screw by using a pair of plyers on both sides. Just snug it a little past what you can do using your fingers. It will stay tight for a long time. Well, I've never had one losen after doing it.

I had that problem with the V3, just put a small washer under each side of the bolt on the armcuff.

It is a great machine and i am loving it. It's totally worth every penny, as long as you get the coils that are right for your type of soil and hunting.

You will probably need to do this same procedure somewhat in reverse if you ever decide to remove the arm cuff. Good luck, you have a great machine to work with.

When mine did that I found the hole became enlarged so the cuff would move around. I drilled another hole towards the end of the cuff & added another bolt took care of the problem until the cuff itself broke . Just bought a new one.

I had the same thing. I put 3 drops of gorilla glue in the crack and it hardened over night. Worked great.

Mine became loose before it totally broke. I ended up ordering a heavier duty one from Whites for about 10 bucks
