The Etrac has some great changes. I like those numbers Bryce and the single screen... but like you said to each his own. I really like seeing what the machine sets the sensitivity at... one always wondered. I just wonder how much that would vary on the SE? Im with you Chris give us some options maybe by down load for the screens, sounds, or where the targets hit. Yeti.... from what i see on Bryce's screen you arent the only one on a buying spree. Man you got a ton of stuff. Here i am coil challenged.

have the option to choose what screen we view. That is really my point. To me it is a step backwards to NOT have the option. Heck...we have it on the SE...so why not on the E-Trac,

If some people like numbers....some people like smartfind only...or some people like both...why not give each of us the option to choose which view we want

Just makes good sense to me.

When you use the E-Trac and find a target that you feel you missed with the SE, have you ever run the SE over it before you dig it? To me that's the only real test. We all know that no matter how many times an area is hunted you always miss something. You may have it the target at a different angle, the ground condition may have changed to do rain, etc.

I never see much value in the statement I see where anyone says they found targets that were missed with another detector of any kind unless there is a side by side teat. I know it takes a lot more time but a side by side test is the only way to make a educated conclusion.

I guess a feller' or two was able to "read between the lines" a little and figure out I kinda' like the E-trac

My SE ain't goin' anywhere though. Again...it will still be my #1 machine.

I'm gonna' see if I can't "swindle" Heavy D outta' his...but then again I do have acces to it anytime.

He called and is getting home this morning from a long road trip. Once he clicks on the forum...he might want to use his E-Trac a little more. I shoulda' said I hated it...then he would have sold it to me cheap.

Between the SE...the EX2....all Darrell's machines he never uses....all the coil combos...and some E-Trac mixed in...we should have a fun year.

If I had the option to bring up the smartfind screen like i do on my SE or EX2...I would buy one today.

I realize there are a lot of numbers hunters...probably just as many as smartfind hunters.

Point is...I would love to have the OPTION to choose which screen I wanted to see....regardless of which one it is.

I didn't do the test and comparing for you to see any "value" in what I stated.

I did it for my own personal curiosity...and nothing more. I then shared it with the forum and let them know my results.

I don't "feel" I missed some coins with the SE...I know I did. It's that simple.

However I was also able to hit a few coins in iron with my SE that I didn't with the E-trac...and YES I did compare both.
I don't know if it is because I am more familiar with the SE and my settings I run or what. The E-trac was good about signaling through a null for me too...but it did not hit a couple of coins in iron. I am not as familiar with the E-trac...so only future "piddling" with answer my question for me.

Maybe you should RE- read my previous 2 or 3 posts. I thoroughly tested side by side over flagged targets I located...then hit it with each machine...different coils...different days...etc.

I do not have time to type in every single detail of each field test on the forum...but do my best to let people know the results with as many details as time allows. I am not into slamming any machine or any coil...but I do give an honest assessment of what I find out.

I have over 50 hours involved with my personal testing of the E-Trac vs SE alone.

I also did these same tests and side by side comparisons with the pro coil against the 10 x 12 SEF coil...and clearly pointed it out in my post.

I'm more than well aware of how to come to an "educated conclusion"....and I did just that.

Hi Bryce, I really enjoyed reading your post. This is the stuff that makes this site so worthwile.

Have you ever tried the F75 LTD in BP mode as it's very different from the original F75? I'd love to read your opinion of that machine.

how valuable it is to get to hunt with someone like you. I don't find much good stuff but what I do find you have helped me to do so.
I've learned a lot over the hunts we've had and if you can get some good out of my etrac I'm happy for ya bud. you can use it whenever you want.
This way you can save yourself some bucks and use both machines like you said.
I really enjoyed your last few posts. I just got back in town and read your sef/pro tests too.

I'm on the road way too much until the end of April so if ur enjoying my etrac just keep on doing it for a while.

I'm far from successful but I dont get to hunt as much as id like either. I'm always on the road somewhere. I just don't have the time to get to know the etrac right now. The only really good coins ive found have come from the wooded cabin area we hunt but he always finds the silvers and I usually find the corroded copper coins..lol

We have been accused by each of our wives, or asked, did the other get one too or when will they get one of anything we have bought over the last 35 yrs. I talked with him yesterday and even though he knows this is my passion now, metal detecting, he said he's thinking about it, when I told him it was fun...............

yah!! i guess i did! hope im not socially retarded now ... my mistake. anyways there was a guy on here that used to post alot with an explorer. i think his name was darell, and i remember seein that he got an e-trac. i thought it was you, but bein's that your "not successful"..... kinda rules you out. sorry.
well i wish you better luck and more time to hunt. that e-trac is one hell of a detector when you turn it on.

While I did not appreciate them...they were not taken personal....but thank you for the apology anyway..

This one post was the summary of over 50 hours of time I spent testing...hunting...taking notes...side by side SE/ETrac comparisons...side by side pro coil/SEF coil comarisons....Pros and Cons...comparisons over undug targets....flagged targets...targets in iron...etc....some of which is mentioned in other posts on the subject.

I am only human...and can only type so much info into one thread.

Nope I've never tried the F75. I'm very busy with the Minelabs and they take up most of my time..
