I got tired of fighting rods being too long and the 'S' rod being a general PITA for using with a daypack. Also at issue were the large stock headphones. So here's the 'backpacker' playing peekaboo.. I cut the 'S' shaft between armrest and handgrip and used a chunk of middle section with spring clips to allow easy assembly/disassembly. Headphone adapter and Garrett slim headphones with volume control... Fits in my favorite daypacks along with some extra critter hunting gear. Much better!
