I just thought maybe you guys and gals would like to see how this dime does on ebay. It may sell for a dime, who knows? But I definitely made it quite clear I think that it is a dug coin.
Numismedia says that it is worth $132 in XF. So we will see how much lower a dug coin will bring. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> I will bet you a corroded zinc that it was at least AU when it was lost though! <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
 
your barber dime is very nice. hope you get a good price for it. last night was our meeting at michigan treasure hunters. i saw a 1928 standing liberty quarter that just blew me away. it got 2nd place as a 1803 large cent got 1st. it had a couple real small stains on the feathers on the back . but heck look at the front! i work the find of the month table so i get to look them over pretty good!
 
If your talking about the 1928 SL Quarter. It was not cleaned. That is what it looked like when it came out of the ground. If you look in the top left corner there is still dirt in the letters. I just gently rubbed it while under running water. And took a picture of it. I also found a 1898 Barber from the same area that came out the same way. Just a couple of dark stains on it too. But it was very worn. They were found in dark sandy loose soil.
