My Compadre and me #12

This, the real first beach hunt with the compadre. I ran it in all metal. It just didn't have much zip on the beach? I did pick up cans at real good depth but coins weren't much over a couple of inches. Going to try it again tomorrow. Maybe the battery was weak? When the hunt was over I put a new battery in because this was my 12th hunt with that battery. Thanks for looking....Z

Good for you. That's a bunch of coins and a pretty impressive trash pile. I don't see how you can help from finding a nice gold ring. I sometimes go for long periods of time and not find one and then I'll find two in one day. I happens when you least expect it.

Zeek, thats actually a pretty big haul for a beach hunt! Compared to what I typically get anyway...thats about 10X the coins I find on an outing, (yesterday for instance, I got 1Q, 3D's and a penny)...all that foil and caps and tabs, wire, etc...that place may just have something there of the goldy or silvery sort! Those stained nickels tell a good story about that place, as do the bottle caps...drinking + beaches = gold..

It is in the testing stag yet with the compadre. Still feeling it out. I must say I am impressed with this crazy little thing called compadre. Yesterdays hunt was 5 + hours and that is a long, long hunt for me. Don't usually do more than 3-4 hours. You can swing the compadre for hours without your arm feeling it and needing to go home.

Tabman if there is a ring there I will probably get a signal. The range of signals that I am getting is from iron (little pieces) to quarter. So rings will be in between. I even dig blips just in case. Some times it is out of the hole and I still can't find it. Don't spend much time looking for those targets. Just move on....

Mud every indication points to gold but it is a big place and it is just going to take time. But I have 5 rings in 12 hunts and only had 7 rings all last year. No watches last year and I have one so far. I guess what these guys are saying is you have to dig more junk to reap the rewards. I am still testing and for $160 it is turning out to be better than I thought. I don't want a $600 detector for a back up sitting there in the closet. We retired guys can use $600 for a lot better cause than a hobby. Things that comes to mind is ice cream, popsicles, bottle of brandy or ????

Z your kidding me . 5 rings in 12 hunts, thats awesome , well worth paying the trash tax , I am impressed, I have the 8" compadre and it gets deeper than the small er coil and just as sensitive on small things and still really light if you take of the boat anchor - that is the coil cover . but i gather you will get good depth on any gold ring even with the 5.75" coil
