Hi Will,

OK. Will ship the detector to your Mulberry, FL address.... when I'm complete. In any regard, I received the detector yesterday. So far, I have tested the coil, coil wire and both coil connectors. (This is a fairly high failure-rate area). All are good. I have found the loose component inside the detector. It is a piece of the plastic captivating latch that holds the pinpoint button securely to the faceplate. It has dehydrated (dry-rotted) and broke off. It does not affect performance in any way. I do not have a spare pinpoint button....... otherwise I could replace it. But..... the pinpoint feature still functions perfectly. As long as you do not excessively 'mash' the pinpoint button too harshly...... you will never experience/suspect any problems. Also..... the loose component has damaged nothing internally within the unit. Zero problems!

This unit has already previously been converted to CZ-3D "old coins" spec's........ just in case you did not know!

I should be able to fully calibrate/validate/certify the unit within the next 24 hours. Will advise.

Sincerely,

Tom

Hi Will,

Ok...... your detector is complete.............. and I managed to get it back in the mail system to you today ... in the nick of time. U.S.P.S., Priority Mail, 2-day delivery, Delivery Confirmation..... with a expected delivery date of Dec. 31............ this Thursday.

In a nut-shell............... nearly every single calibration/adjustment was still exacting! Only the 'normal' (not 'salt' mode) nickel window was VERY slightly off-center............. and is now back in spec's / per engineering design. I spent a couple of hours (extra..... because all other spec's were in alignment)....... attempting to pull another tenth of an inch out of it. But...... it is exactly a 11.0" unit.

This particular 1996 unit is a very 'electronically' stable platform. You should have a lot of fun & success with this detector.

Happy Intelligent Hunting!

Sincerely,

Tom

I love it when Tom talks about CZs. Sounds like you have a good one. Let us know how it goes when you get out with it. My first hunt with my Tom tuned CZ3d 1021 got me my only bust coin, 1834 half dime. The same day I pulled a walking liberty half. Very memorable hunt. I wish the same for you.

I purchased this unit off of Craig's list, control box and coil only for $300.00 minus the 3 piece rod assembly. $100.00 to tom and have $400.00 invested...All I have to do is find the rods...

How does one contact Tom?Iv'e sent him several emails regarding my CZ but no response.Any suggestions?

Thank you empty pockets I must have had an older email address.I just sent him an email,I hope to hear from him soon.

That is good CZ6A at 11.0''. I had one that was a little less then that. I think any Detector that can do 10'' or more on a Dime is fairly Hot as long as it Has proper Tone and I.D. at that depth.

When Tom says its OK its okay. He is a treasure in the detecting world! Good purchase at a very good price. Now go pay it off with finds! I just pulled a nice Platinum ring with my CZ3D belt mounted using the 10.5 coil. That and a few of the silver rings pretty much covered my investment in CZ and the 3 factory coils.
