..I have told y'all about a beach club I can camp/detect either before or after their season,This year Im goin in May,hopefully-The intriguing thing about this place is an open field,20-30 acres, surrounded on 3 sides by a road;and has a snackbar/bathroom building on the 4th open end-I have found turn-of-the-century silver coins, wheats, and old jewelry in this open field;all different depths,no rhyme or reason as to location.of the finds. It is almost GUARANTEED I will find OLD silver /jewelry detecting there.Ive found some SWEET Walking Libery halves/quarters;Mercs,a few Barbers,Buffalo nickles, and within 5 feet modern coins.NATURALLY the older stuff is deeper-generally over 3";sometimes almost 8".The soil is mostly sandy,so all the silver is in
shape!!The owner has told me the place has been in use since the 1890's;and a lot of well-to-do people frequented the place in the early years-THATS why Im holding out hope for a GOLD COIN find there!!!There are THREE beaches there;the oldest is overgrown with weeds and not in use for swimming-Hasnt been for YEARS!!!-I was gonna detect the water with my waders on a couple years back;till I got there and seen BIG BLACK WATER SNAKES
swimming around in the old pond-THE SECOND oldest beach there never fails to give up a nice Mercury dime-The bottom is CLAY,hard to dig in,and the coins are DEEP in it!!!-Ive had LOTS of good signals that were just too deep to dig outta that clay...The 3RD beach is the newest one, have only found newer coins-rings,but then that is where I found my best to date find of rings in 1 spot-3 SILVER,1 GOLD WITH DIAMONDS,3"DEEP IN THE GROUND IN A 12"DIAMETER CIRCLE!!!THEN THERE ARE THE huge old oak trees,on the other side of the road, that line the road all the way around the 3 sides-Some of them have HUGE branches straight out, about 6-8'above the ground-Ive found some NICE old silver, wheats, rings, etc under a couple of the branches where they fell out of kids' pockets climbing in the trees, and there are LOTS more trees with LOTS more branches sticking out to detect under-Can we call it a "DETECTORIST'S PARADISE"???OH MY,YES-And its all mine!!!.....
