My DIY super compact, carbon fibre, travel shaft for the XP Deus

I've been thinking of this project for awhile. I wanted to buy or make a super compact travel shaft for my XP Deus that could easily fit in a backpack. I finally came across a carbon fibre telescopic monopod, and the rest I pieced together. What I came up with works great. No piece is longer than 15" which means I can fit in about any backpack, perfect for weekend travel on one of those "cheapo" airlines or hiking to remote locations. I made a video detailing my project. Hope there's some who find this of interest. Cheers!

I like nice job. how does it couple up together? behind the foam grip to the arm cuff piece.

Thanks, the monopod has a 1/4 bolt for attaching cameras, etc. I glued an end cap to my pvc armrest extension and added a 1/4" female thread to it. It screws together and holds up surprisingly well.

Nice work and video showing it. I just bought the Deus because of how well it packs for hiking in, but that project is taking it to another level of pack-able! :)
