My F75 was erratic this morning.

My F75 was eratic this morning. Ran ok for about 10 minutes and then started cycling through the start up serial number. Ruined my time out. I finally troubled shooted the issue as low batteries. I was down to 1 bar and was thinking they were all right but they were not. Thats the deal with the F75 battery life; they last so long you forget about them, and when they finally do go out they ruin your day if you aren't prepared. I wasn't and lost my time a field. What made it worse was my first detector pick was squirrely this morning and I had gone back home and traded out for the F75, only to have it act up on site as well.

From now on, when my batteries drop to the single bar on my F75 they will get replaced. Low batteries cause all kinds of wierd things to happen with the F75.

Man that sucks, when you just have to give up and go home.

Not for everybody but running rechargeable batteries works really well for me. I just put them on charge the night before and I am always still showing full charge at the end of the day.

I carry extra batteries in the truck but have never needed them. Just to ice the cake my brother MarkCZ found and ordered some small plastic boxes that are made just for 4 AA or AAA's and he gave a few of them and they really are nice.

You're exactly right Mike, but it's good to be reminded from time to time.

Got the t-shirt on that one..... I always carry extra batteries after that....... extra 9v for the carrot as well - that thing is very erratic once the battery is at 50%....

Yes, the F75 goes bonkers when the batteries get around one bar! It happened to me just this week. Luckily, I carry extra batteries. Get yourself some of these battery cases. I have some and they are really nice. They hold 4AA or AAA batteries and make it so easy to carry replacement batteries easily while in the field. The link is just for an example but there are many sellers and different prices, all cheap and most with free shipping. I also have some cases for 9v batteries and they keep the 9v's from shorting out if you carry them in your pocket. The cases for the 9v batteries will also hold 2 AA or AAA batteries. I would not be without my battery cases!
