My finds for the year

7centsworth

Well-known member
I have only managed to get out fiv times so far this year . I also went on my first civil war relic hunt today with a friend. I was tore up like a can of kraut when I started finding bullets. I also managed to find two buttons. I need help on the bullet ids though. Especially the flat nose one. Here are my finds for my five times out. My best coins are 1946 dime, 1919 dime and 1906 badly corroded indian head.

I believe that flat nose bullet is a 3 ringer that has been cut flat. I have seen many carved bullets and the guys in them days did many things to bullets when they sat in camp bored. Nice CW relics!

The pictures are not good , it does not have rings and it is smooth as silk on top. I don't think it has been cut. Possibility though.

I would love to be able to go on a relic hunt. I love history and that would make my day. I will get there sometime.

Congrats, Travis! I'm happy for you! I sure remember the first bullet I dug!

Cool Digs Travis, I have never been relic hunting, wait a minute here comes the wife. She just smacked me! Ouch, I deserve it!

Congrats Travis....the mini-balls are always great to find.....I have some from detecting a Civil War area with the club years ago and with permission for the club to hunt! Never know what the ground holds as it has always been there.....sometimes deep and/or deeper and less deep! People have been here a long time and have always lost items and tools and etc. May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I really like relic hunting now. It was nice in the plowed field not having to try and keep the grass neat.

I have been on 13 of the big organized CW hunts. Found some very cool relics over the years and made many life long friends.

I would really like to go on one of those . I think you are right about the bullet being cut I found a couple on the internet that were smooth like thia one. It does not have rings though.
