My first buffalo

I spent a fue hours at the old closed school here in town today and after 9 years of detecting i found my first buffalo nickel,i am thrilled ! I didnt even know till i came home to clean off my coins.My daughter grabbed its and said what year is it? Guess what no year is visible! Man was i upset,im still thrilled:) anyone that knows how to clean it well let me know,thanks, phil

I really haven't been watching for them, but did find an undated buffalo nickel Sunday afternoon. After reading your post, just on a whim I decided to go thru my nickel finds from the past 13 months, 152 of them and there was only one other buffalo in among all those nickels, so they must be a rare find. Glad you brought the topic up, will start keeping an eye out for them from now on...
 
Mine were of the four legged variety, so cleaned them up enough to discover they had dates after all, a "26" and a "36".
 
They are always an exciting find, nice work. I have been told that Olive Oil works great, you just soak the coins in it.
