My first Colonials...

Auriemma

Member
A friend offered to take me to one of his honey holes to ... As he put it, "cut my teeth on Colonial". He was on and found some nice coins. I managed a number of tent stakes and a nail. Then after a short chat and some tips, up pops 3 musket balls: (2) .495" dia and (1) .350"dia. Buck and balls has he put it. All within 12 inches of each other and about 3" down. A little while later I got a strong hit. And a out pops a large button from 6" under. Tombac he called it, 1.145" dia.

I had a great time and learned a bit.

Nice finds. Do you have any photos of the colonials, coins that is.

Nice colonial finds, are you able to identify any of the coins? Thanks for sharing!
